After Hellcat variant of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, rumors suggest that Chrysler is considering also to release the 2017 Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat pickup truck. Here you can read the latest rumors regarding this model and see its possible design.
2017 Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat Design
The artist’s rendering photo below shows how the upcoming 2017 Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat pickup truck might look like when it goes on sale. As many Hellcat models have scooped hood, the 1500 will most likely have similar design with one, if not more air vents on its hood. I don’t expect any significant changes on the grille and headlights, but the front bumper with integrated fog lamps might receive redesign. The rear end could also be slightly revised, while the bed could remain intact. The truck is going to be offered with a set of 22-inch Y-shaped 7-spoke wheels, with optional choice of 24-inch wheels with Brembo brakes behind those.
Inside, the 2017 Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat is expected to receive some minor changes. It will probably receive leather seats bolstered with Alcantara. Dashboard and center console will also be updated. The flat-bottom steering wheel wrapped in leather will come with additional buttons for controlling the 900-watt audio system and navigation. Behind it, expect to see new instrument cluster with SRT badges. An 8.4-inch touchscreen will also be added, with pre-installed Uconnect infotainment system. The rotary shifter will most likely get additional Sport mode.
Engine, Specs, Performance
Latest rumors suggest that the 2017 Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat variant will be powered by a 6.2L supercharged V-8 engine, paired with an 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission and producing estimated 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. Power will be transferred to the rear axle, allowing the pickup truck to accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in about 4 seconds. The exhaust system should also receive improvements.
Ram 1500 SRT Release Date, Price
Given that the 2017 Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat will be released for the 2017 model year, its is expected to go on sale during 2016, most likely in the second half. It will probably make its debut earlier at some of the international auto shows. There are no official pricing details in this moment, but experts predict that the Hellcat variant might be available for the estimated price tag of about 55 thousand dollars. We will know more details in the upcoming months.
