Exterior Design

When making this sedan, the automaker used aluminum material to make stiff and lightweight body, thus increasing the car’s performance. The new 2017 Jaguar XE is also very aerodynamical — it has a long, deeply sculpted hood, while its rear end is rather short. On the front, there is a mesh grille, and several air intakes, for better engine and brake cooling. The headlights are narrowed, giving the car aggressive appearance. Viewed from the side, the XE’s roof is elegantly rounded. You’ll notice the addition of side skirts and 17-inch five-spoke forged alloy wheels. There will be an option of 18-, 19- and 20-inch wheels with different designs. On the back, the XE also has narrow, elegant taillights. The rear bumper differs from the rest of the car, and it has two exhaust pipes that protrude beneath.

Interior Styling

The 2017 Jaguar XE comes with the driver-focused interior, meaning that all controls are at the driver’s fingertips, easily reachable. As you can see in the photo below, the big center console divides the front seats. It features an automatic shift knob, two cupholders, and some buttons. In the center part of the dashboard, there is an 8-inch color touch display, which is a part of the all-new InControl infotainment system. You can use it to run useful apps, to control some of the car’s features, to activate GPS navigation, and to listen to a music. It also supports a Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB connectivity. The cabin is sporty rather than luxurious. The designers used high-quality materials, fine-grain leathers, twin-needle stitching, aluminum inserts, piano black trims, wood veneers… Overall, it looks very nice and modern.

Engine, Specs, Performance

The 2017 Jaguar XE S trim is going to be powered by a supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine that will be able to deliver between 335-340 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. All this power will allow the car to reach the speed of 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds. The automaker claims that the car’s top speed is electronically-limited to 155 mph (about 250 km/h). As for the transmission options, the word is that this power unit will be paired with either a 6-speed manual or ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox. We have the confirmation that the sedan will be offered with the all-wheel-drive. More powerful models, such as the XE R, will be powered by a supercharged 5.0L V-8 powertrain producing more than 550 horsepower. Also confirmed is the new 3.0L Inline-6 engine.
