The 2016 Tesla Model X is an all-electric crossover vehicle, characterized by a very attractive design and falcon-wing doors. After several delays, it will be launched on September 29, 2015. Some of you might find this car interesting, so feel free to read the following review.
2016 Tesla Model X Design
The 2016 Tesla Model X is quite similar to its cousin, the Model S, but it also has some of its own style. For example, the front end is different, and resembles some of the recent Kia models. The headlights are sharp, giving the front end an aggressive look. Overall design of the car is very elegant. The SUV is also a little bit taller than the Model S, which is not surprising, but the two vehicles share the wheelbase. Other great feature is a glass roof, which starts with the windshield and extends all the way to the tailgate.
Interior Styling, Equipment
I didn’t get the chance to see the car personally, but other people say that the interior of the 2016 Tesla Model X SUV is very spacious. There can sit up to seven adult passengers. You probably can’t see in the pictures above, but this car comes with three rows of seats wrapped in white and black leather. One interesting thing is that you can access the back row via the so called falcon wings, which open upwards. And that’s not all, it also has a lot of space for all your luggage and stuff. Another good thing about the Model X is its entertainment system. It has a large, and I mean LARGE, 17-inch touch screen, which looks like a tablet device. Driver can use it to control many interior features, to run pre-installed apps, to access the internet, to activate GPS navigation, to play the music, etc. As you can see in the photo below, behind the multifunctional steering wheel, there is also a digital instrument cluster that shows additional information about the car.
Electric Motor, Specs, Performance
The 2016 Tesla Model X is a full-electric crossover vehicle, meaning that there is no petrol or diesel engines. It is powered by a pair of electric motors only. Each motor drives an axle of its own, making it an all-wheel-drive car. Just like the Model S, this electric SUV comes in two variants, with a 60 kilowatt-hour battery pack and more powerful 85 kWh battery pack. According to the manufacturer, the Model X is able to accelerate from the point of rest to the 60 mph in less than 5 seconds, which is not bad at all for an EV. It uses the 10 kW charger and can travel up to 170-230 miles between charges.
Model X Release Date, Price
Like I already mentioned at the beginning of this article, the 2016 Tesla Model X electric crossover will be making its official launch on September 29, 2015. It will make its debut at the event in Fremont, California. Deliveries are expected to start in early 2016. Pre-ordering of this model will cost you no more than $5,000. As for the car’s full price, it hasn’t been announced yet, but according to CNN, it might cost around $132,000.
At the Fremont event, we also hope to see the upcoming Model 3, which will most likely go on sale in 2017.
