Kia and Twentieth Century Fox are presenting you the new 2016 Kia Sorento X-Men SUV inspired by the most popular mutant from Marvel comics – Wolverine. All fans of both the comics and Kia vehicles may find this model quite attractive. Now, let’s see what it has to offer.
2016 Kia Sorento X-Men Design
This is not the first time that Kia “puts on” its vehicles in “costumes” inspired by superheroes. This time the automaker presents the 2016 Kia Sorento X-Men inspired by Wolverine, one of the most popular mutants in the history of Marvel comics. This SUV was made for fans in order to celebrate the release of the movie “X-Men: Days of Future Past” on DVD and Blu-ray. Now, check out the photos above and below. You will notice that this X-car comes with the Wolverine claws on both the front and back ends. A pair of claws stretches from the front bumper, across the air intakes, and partly covering the headlights. There’s a big X badge on the front grille. Fog lights are hidden behind the claws. There are also two ripped X signs on each side of the vehicle. On the back end there is only one set of adamantium claws that also comes out of the rear bumper, and stretches all the way up to the rear window. And notice how the roof-mounted spoiler resembles Wolverine’s hair.
Unfortunately, these photos do not show the interior of the 2016 Kia Sorento X-Men. We presume it it similar to the base model’s interior (photo below), probably with more references to both the X-Men and Wolverine. We bet there is an X sign on the steering wheel. And we’re sure the automaker used luxury and premium materials for the driver-oriented cabin. Some of the features found in the base model are heated front and rear seats, which are also very comfortable and covered in soft-touch leather, adjustable front seats, an infotainment system, 12-speaker stereo audio system by Infinity, climate control, connectivity, cupholders, etc.
Engine, Specs, Performance
No details on the engine were given, but it is rumored that the 2016 Kia Sorento X-Men is powered by a 3.3-liter DOHC V-6 gasoline engine that can be found in the LX, EX, SX and SX-L models. This power unit is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox and delivers 290 horsepower and 252 lb-ft of torque.
Release Date and More Photos
More photos of the 2016 Kia Sorento X-Men Wolverine Edition can be seen below. The bad thing is that this is one of a kind model and it was designed just for showcasing. It won’t be available for sale, unless Kia offer it at some kind of auction. The SUV will made its world debut at the 2015 Australian Open, taking place from January 19 to February 1. If you want to see it, go to the Melbourne Park.
