The 2016 Honda Jazz arrived in Europe this summer. The hatchback was presented at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in March. It is the third generation model that features a bold, yet sophisticated interior and exterior design. It also includes a B-segment chassis, making it bigger and more luxurious, compared to the previous model.
Engine, Specs, Fuel Economy
The 2016 Honda Jazz is powered by a 1.3L gasoline engine that can produce 101 horsepower and 100 lb-ft of torque. A 6-speed manual gearbox comes as a standard. However, the CVT automatic with seven speeds is offered as the optional transmission. The difference between the two transmissions is the fuel consumption. The manual unit has a consumption rate of 29 mpg for the city and 37 mpg for the highway. The CVT is rate at 33 mpg in the city and 42 mpg on the highway. In a near future, hybrid variant is going to be offered, that will most likely be fitted with a 1.5L petrol engine combined with an electric motor, producing a total output of 133 horsepower.
Interior and Exterior Design
The 2016 Honda Jazz has an excellent interior space with leather seats that are easy to clean and comfy to the skin. Everything is made of high quality materials. The driver and occupants benefit from the increased refinement, advanced safety and technology gadgets that aid in accurate navigation. There is an integrated single CD stereo audio system that offers entertainment to all the passengers. The car is also equipped with four speakers, an USB adapter and two tweeters. The speedometer features a large LED display that provides a range of useful information, including fuel consumption and miles traveled. There are the magic seats that can fold up and create more space for luggage. All models have power folding mirrors and GPS navigating system.
As for the exterior, the new model is quite similar to the Honda Fit. It retains the classic design and exhibits a distinctive powerful new face and strong lines. In the front, the 2016 Honda Jazz comes with powerful fog lights, as well as strong LED lights. The front bumper air inlets expel excess air, which have a good impact on the car’s performance, allowing it to attain its maximum speed. Part of the air is trapped in a special chamber and is used to cool the car’s under hood and interior. It rides on a set of 15-inch steel wheels with hubcaps. The body design is streamlined and cuts swiftly through the air. This enables the car to attain top speeds with ease and offers very little vibration.
The car is equipped with ABS and electronic brake force that offers very excellent braking system. There are also front bags that are offered as a standard, with optional side airbags. There is also a rear camera that is used when the driver is reversing the car. The 2016 Honda Jazz has intelligent speed assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, traffic sign recognition system and a high beam support system. All these features aid in offering safety solutions to the driver.
