The 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class bellows sophistication and finesse thanks to the new advanced features, technology upgrades, as well as safety equipment. This lineup has shown great improvement from its predecessor.
C-Class Exterior Design
What you will first spot about this class is its stunning exterior. It did not received a complete facelift, just some minor design elements that will keep it fresh and modern. From a far you will mistake it for the much larger expensive S-Class. The 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class models are quite larger than before. The Sport and Exclusive models have different front ends, with unique grille designs.
Interior Styling and Equipment
The interior is superbly done with the styling borrowed heavily from the S-Class. Unlike the exterior, the cabin is quite refreshed with new materials, such as wooden trims and aluminum. The vents are large and round, with a smooth flowing center console, which is totally new for this model year. On the dashboard there is a 7-inch touch display and some of the features can be controlled via the multifunction steering wheel. The icing on the cake is the inlaid door panels. All these new additions give the lineup a feel that is exclusive to expensive cars.
What is outstanding about the C-Class is the work that has been put on the overall interior design. It comes with Burmester sound system, new COMAND infotainment system that is touch controlled and Intelligent Drive safety technology. The cabin epitomizes class that is not evident in other alternatives in the market. This is augmented with top notch quality material that has been used in the finishing. Its technology suite is on the same level with E and S-Class in relation to driver assistance and safety.
Engine Range, Specs, Performance
It is anticipated that the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will launch in the U.S. market this fall in two forms. That is the C300 and C400 classes-coming in 4Matic standard all wheel drive. The C300 boasts of a turbocharged 2.0L engine with 4 cylinders and direct injection that is rated at 235 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. A rear drive C300 version will be made available. The larger C400 model has a 3.0L V-6 twin turbocharged powertrain that can produce 329 “horses” and torque of 354 lb-ft. Hybrid and diesel version are also anticipated to be offered in the U.S. All 2015 Mercedes Benz C-Class in America will employ a seven-speed auto transmission. There is a word that the convertible model will be powered by a 2.0L I-4 and/or 3.0L V-6 engines. The C63 AMG model will be driven by a turbo 4.0L V-8 engine. Output numbers were not given.
Although the C300 isn’t yet out for testing, it shares some comparison with the European market C-250. The C-250 showed a lot of power even though it’s 30 horsepower less than its American counterpart. Controlling the steering on this model becomes easier when all wheel drive is disengaged. In terms of comfort and sophistication, the smaller C-Class is very similar to the larger C400. The 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class hasn’t yet been crash tested by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration neither has the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety since it is yet to start retailing in America. Gas mileage ratings for both of the versions are yet to be established by EPA for the same reason.
