The 2015 Koenigsegg One:1 was unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show. This supercar has a balanced ratio of 1:1 between its horsepower and weight, hence its name. There are only six units of this model, and all of them had already been bought.
2015 Koenigsegg One:1 Design
The aerodynamic design of this supercar, dubbed “World’s first mega car”, will incorporate a horde of new and innovative features that are expected to glue the car to the ground. These include the use of new technologies such as the track optimized zero-winglets attached to its front bumpers, a Le Mans-inspired active wing configuration at its rear, side splitters and extended venture tunnels, and an optimized active under-trim air management.
The 2015 Koenigsegg One:1 is available with rear Triplex suspension and carbon bevel springs and active–shock absorbers. Its suspension package includes: shock absorbing, active ride height and variable stiffness spring ratios. Its carbon chassis and general body work is 20% lighter as M46J and M55J high modulus fiber materials have been used. Its brakes (both front and rear) have been adopted from the Agera R. Its system is natural carbon ceramic with 6-piston calipers with 2 at the front and 4 at its rear. Its traction control is available with five different modes of handling and it boasts a weight distribution of 44% front and 56% at its rear which is similar to that of the Agera R.
It’s also available with custom Michelin cup tires, which are fitted to each corner and will measure 256/35–R19 for its front tires and 345/30–R20 for the rear ones. The wheels are specially made out of carbon fiber and will also feature a different design than the one used before by this Swedish car maker. Interior of the 2015 Koenigsegg One:1 has been slightly modified and more-less looks like the cockpit of any racing car, without any luxury features. Designers have used weight-saving material, mostly Alcantara and carbon fiber.
Engine, Performance, Specs
Its engine architecture is similar to that of the Agera R, but it have a few upgrades and produces more power. This power unit is a 5.0l V8 engine that features an increased boost pressure from the Agera R’s 1.4 to a new 1.8 bars and twin turbochargers. The powertrain can produce up to 1340 hp (wow) and 1101 lb-ft of torque. It is mated to a dual-clutch 7-speed transmission which transfers the power produced to the rear wheels.
The 2015 Koenigsegg One:1 have better fuel economy and uses the E85 bio-fuel, normal petrol or the race-fuel. The Swedish car maker hasn’t yet tested the car on the 0-60 mph, but has tested it on the 0-250 mph, which the car perfectly picks in just 20 seconds. It also features a drag coefficient of about 0.445-0.50. This is highly dependent on the adaptable wing at its rear. The One:1 is also able to produce as much down force as the Agera R. Cruising at 260 km/h this exotic car yields a 610 kg down-force, while at a speed of 440 km/h the down force exerted increased to 830 kg.
Koenigsegg One:1 Price, Release Date
Released at the Geneva Auto Show in March 2014, only six units of the 2015 Koenigsegg One:1 were available, and the word is that all have been sold already. The automaker didn’t want to reveal its price, but the rumor is that the price tag is about $2.86 million in the U.S and €2.1 million in Europe. Too expensive, if you ask us.
