The 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta made its world premiere at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. It is one of the most powerful spider convertibles up to this date. This supercar will be available in limited numbers, so be sure to hurry up and reserve your unit for about $285,000.
Exterior and Interior Design
Designers did a really good job here. Exterior of the 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta is very aerodynamical. And it also looks quite appealing, with all that yellow paint and blue-white stripes. Its hood comes with reverse air vents, openings in the front fenders, and the front bumper also has large air intakes. All of this will improve airflow and reduce drag. Just behind the doors, you can notice the small wings, added for increased stability. On the back is a big rear diffuser, and above it you can see two really large exhaust tips. Aligned with the taillights, you can see the rear grille, which will also help in better flow of the air, increasing the car’s performance. Given that this is a convertible model, the car’s aluminum roof can open and close in about 14 seconds. Aperta rides on the forged aluminum wheels.
Interior of the 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta is almost all covered in carbon-fiber materials. The sports seats are wrapped in Alcantara, and are partly painted in yellow, to match the car’s body. Dashboard has an unusual look, part in front of the driver is slightly raised from the rest of the dashboard, and that is the reason why is the left air vent positioned higher than the right one. Still, its quite attractive. Steering wheel is not rounded, it is slightly angular at the bottom, and comes with several control buttons. The infotainment system is not present, so don’t expect any touchscreens and high-end gadgets.
Engine, Specs, Performance
As for the performance, the 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta will have a rear-mounted, naturally aspirated engine, positioned behind the two seats. This 4.5L V-8 unit will be able to deliver 597 horsepower (445 kW) and 398 lb-ft (540 Nm) of torque. All this power will allow the convertible to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3 seconds. Ferrari didn’t reveal the car’s top speed, but it could be somewhere between 190 and 200 mph. It emits 275 grams of CO2 gases per kilometer.
