The 2015 BMW M4 Concept Iconic Lights made its debut at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2015), introducing its advanced laser lighting technology. Such an amazing vehicle. Let’s say something about its design and other features.
Exterior and Interior Design
As its name suggests, the 2015 BMW M4 Concept Iconic Lights is characterized by the advanced laser headlights and OLED taillights. These new lights not only give the car a futuristic and cool look, but are also much safer for traffic because they do not blind the other drivers and pedestrians. These laser lights can throw light much further and with the help of integrated camera can throw a spotlight on the obstacles and pedestrians on the road ahead, warning the driver if there are potential hazards. The rear lights use OLED technology (OLED stands for organic light emitting diodes) which can change color and pattern. The rest of the coupe remain pretty much the same, and it is painted in a Cool White Metallic paint.
When it comes to the Iconic Light Concept’s interior, it is most likely identical to the interior of the regular BMW M4 2015 model. That means an updated and more sporty cabin of the 4 Series with a touch of the M Series design. There are leather-wrapped bucket seats with contrast stitching, foldable rear seats, footrests, chrome accents, leather steering wheel, circular instrument cluster, and infotainment system with driver assistant.
Engine, Specs, Performance
The 2015 BMW M4 Concept Iconic Lights is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter I-6 engine with direct injection, delivering 425 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. Power is transferred to the rear axle via a standard 6-speed manual or optional 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The car with the manual transmission can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds, while the model equipped with the M double-clutch transmission can reach the speed of 60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds. Max speed is 155 mph.
2015 BMW M4 Concept Iconic Lights Price
Given that this is just a concept model that was build to test the advanced lighting technology, it won’t be available for sale. However, BMW might use this technology in the future models. On the other hand, the development of these laser and OLED lights is quite expensive, so if BMW release any model with these lights, we can not expect affordable price tag. The base M4 is priced at $64,200.
