The 2014 Toyota U2 Urban Utility Concept is the latest release in Toyota’s line of transport concept vehicles that a lot of people would find quite useful. Unlike most of the concept cars that are severely burdened with a futuristic look, Toyota found a way of finding a fine balance between the future and reality.
Engine, Specs, Performance
The 2014 Toyota U2 Urban Utility Concept boasts of something that is in some sorts a concept engine as well. It is powered by an inline 4-cylinder 2.0L engine. It is able to put out up to 160 horsepower and an astounding 130 pounds per foot worth of torque. With all this power, the van is able to accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour in about 9 seconds, which is quite impressive for a car that is built to be more of an appealing to the eye than a performer. This is even made better by the fact that it has a 120 mph top speed.
Toyota U-squared Urban Utility Exterior Design
Toyota manages to adhere to a status of true concept cars while at the same time making sure that they don’t cross the lines and make the car too dreamy. In actual sense, it is possible for one to imagine Toyota cars adopting such a shape in the future. In the front, the 2014 Toyota U2 Urban Utility Concept has a small grille and four vertical LED lights that make it quite the catch allowing it to match a futuristic approach while at the same time looking fit for the current challenges. Half way, its box-like shape it has two bulges on the sides that are perhaps meant to create more load room in the inside while at the same time giving the van a quirky look. At the back, there is not much happening, but that could be because most of the efforts in the minivan were focused on creating an interior that is mind blowing.
Interior Styling and Accessories
One of the interior parts of the 2014 Toyota U2 Urban Utility Concept that the manufacturer definitely took time to design and got it right is the dashboard. Not only is it quirky, but it attains that futuristic look, especially with the speedometer attaining an oval 3 dimension like shape. The steering wheel looks by far better than anything you might have ever seen on any of the standard Toyota’s. The one addition that most people may not have anticipated is the iPad, which acts as the tech hub of the car. The interior has plenty of space both for passengers and also luggage, more so considering that all the seats in the van can be folded to create more space. The roof can also be rolled back, allowing you to transport bigger items, such as the furniture.
2014 Toyota U2 Urban Utility Concept Release Date
The best part is that the 2014 Toyota U2 Urban Utility Concept has already been released, this was back earlier this year at the New York World Maker Faire. However, as you may know, concepts never come with a price tags, so this is one that you will just have to feast on with your eyes. However, this van can be used as a model for the future transport vehicles.
