The 2014 Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge Concept is a modern sports car that might actually enter the production and go on sale as a 2015-2016 model year sedan. Here you can find all the information about the concept model.
Exterior and Interior Design
When you look at the exterior of this sedan, you can see how it looks both luxurious and aggressive. The 2014 Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge Concept is a little bit lower than the current generation model, and it’s also wider. Its body is mostly made of aluminum and steel materials, colored in the custom red paint, with addition of the carbon fiber front bumper, side skirts, rear diffuser, side mirrors and roof.
On the front there is a big front grille, different than the recently teased grille (more on that later), and modern, menacing headlights. The bumper comes with integrated air splitter. The hood is made of steel and comes with the aluminum cooling vents. The new Q50 concept rides on the 21-inch alloy wheels. Its rear bumper with integrated diffuser features a dual-exit exhaust system with large round tips. What is interesting is that the rear end has LED taillights that can be found on the RB9 Formula One vehicle.
As for the interior, it features a combination of black and red colors, matching the car’s exterior. As you can see in the photo below, the 2014 Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge Concept has a multifunctional 3-spoke steering wheel, wrapped in a suede-like material with aluminum trims. It comes with dual paddle shifters for changing the speed of the car when you switch to the manual mode.
Behind the wheel is a digital instrument cluster with two gauges and a small display between them. In the center area, there are two touch screens, one for displaying maps and useful info, and second for controlling all the functions and using the apps. This is one advanced infotainment system. The seats are wrapped in leather with contrast stitching. Carbon fiber and chrome accents can be found all around the cabin. The whole interior is adorned with sport styling.
2014 Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge Concept Engine
Infiniti is a luxury brand of the Japanese automaker Nissan, so it is not such a surprise that the 2014 Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge Concept comes with the same engine as the Nissan GT-R, with some slightly modifications. It is powered by a turbocharged 3.8-liter V-6 petrol engine, paired with a 7-speed automatic gearbox and delivering up to 560 horsepower. The concept sedan’s top speed is limited to 180 mph, and it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds.
2014 Paris Auto Show Teaser
The Japanese automaker released a teaser photo ahead of the 2014 Paris Auto Show, which took place last October. Some websites claimed that this mysterious vehicle was actually the production version of the 2014 Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge. There was also a text that reads: “Soon, Infiniti will share a vision – its soul – on a scale not seen before from the company. For now, this. For more… See you soon!”
